The Seniors section is for runners from 18 years old and we are a mixed abilities group. We have runners of varying levels of experience and pace so there is always someone to run with. We suggest that prior to joining you feel confident in your ability to run for half an hour, the speed at which you run or the time it takes you does not matter, you don’t have to be fast to run with us. We will help you to improve your distance, time and fitness. All sessions are led by England Athletics qualified Leaders in Running Fitness.
Tuesday speed work sessions:
Through the summer months, we meet Tuesdays at Blundell’s Prep School at 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start where we use the Blundell’s grass running track.
For the rest of the year, we meet Tuesdays at Elmore Football Club at 6pm for a 6.15pm start.
Tuesday training sessions focus on speed endurance and hill work as well as improving running technique and skills. During the summer months we train on a grass track and during the winter we train on specific lit road routes depending on the session.
Thursday club run:
We meet every Thursday (both summer and winter) at Elmore Football Club at 6pm ready for a 6.15pm start
Thursday training sessions involve runs of varying distances, usually between 4, 6 or 8 miles. During the summer we try to explore more scenic routes including a regular off-road run and during the winter these runs will be on lit road routes.
The Thursday sessions also include an improvers/beginners group specifically designed for anyone looking to start running in a safe and supportive environment. If you would like to improve your running by going further or faster and would like to run as part of a sociable, friendly group then come along and join us for a free trial session.
