Uplowman 10k is the new race by the Tiverton Harriers. The route is a single 10k road loop with approximately 100m elevation. The start and finish is from the village hall in Uplowman (5 miles east of Tiverton), which serves as the race HQ. With a mix of flat and fast roads and rolling Devon lanes, the Uplowman 10k will be an enjoyable challenge for participants.
Places are limited to 200 runners. Race numbers are to be collected on the day. The route has a water station at the 6km mark with recyclable drink cups.

Route
The clockwise route starts from the playing field at Uplowman village hall and exits onto the road into the village centre. A left turn at the crossroads by the Redwoods Inn takes you onto a fast straight road that descends gradually downhill for 3k heading westwards towards Tiverton. From here the route turns to the north as you cross over the river Lowman. You’ll start a gradual 2k climb as you pass through the hamlet of Craze Lowman and up though the farmland beyond. From a right turn at the top of the lane gives you a short descent and flat section before you begin the climb to the highest point on the route. As you climb, you’ll pass the water station at the 6km mark. The route snakes downhill past pretty cottages and farms before you take a right turn to join the road back into Uplowman. Be prepared for a couple of short sharp climbs as you arrive into Uplowman past the farms and church. The road levels out as you’ll head straight across the Redwoods Inn crossroads this time and turn left back into the playing field. A grandstand finish lap of the playing field completes the course.

Uplowman is just 5 minutes from Junction 27 on the M5. From J27 join the A361 North Devon Link Road towards Tiverton. After quarter of a mile, take the first exit and then left at the roundabout at the end of the slip road. Follow the road for a mile through the village of Sampford Peverell and over the canal bridge. As you reach the top of the hill coming out of Sampford, turn right at the cross roads signposted to Uplowman. Another left hand turn shortly after will take you up a hill and over the Link Road which will drop you down by the village hall in Uplowman.
Parking
Free parking is available in the field opposite the village hall. Please follow instructions from marshals who will direct you where to park. The village hall carpark is reserved for race officials and volunteers.
